is what I'm known as. It's my creative name, generally, except where some gol-dratted person has beat me to it as a user name on whatever venue or forum. Rating: PG, due to cussin', innuendo, inadvertent American jive, and peril

Pieces of pieces of Paul

Posting a fic to an LJ community and linking from one's own site - or vice versa? It's a question. This one I'm putting on fregg_love and linking to from here, possibly because I'm less confident of it. Part one of three - probably - it seems to be burgeoning in length.

Summary: Pre-script instant messages, and early drafts via email, of Nick Frost and Simon Pegg's next movie, "Paul" !?!
Pieces of Paul pt 1

It's a bit odd and scary, and highly presumptuous! Purporting to write in the casual, `at home' voices these two men, Nick Frost and Simon Pegg. Big challenge is conveying what I see as something of a hallmark, the slightly homophobic things they say/do and then how they tend to quickly undermine that - and then vice versa. Ditto to some extent for sexism.

That's a line from one of the Telltale games with Sam & Max, and I think it rather evocative.

fun with small animals

My experiment in sleep deprivation continues! I usually sleep like a proverbial top after a vigorous walloping scene, so, now, I can see what the rest of the world routinely goes through. Granted, they probably aren't up writing/reading about homosocial duos, so I'm probably having more fun. I can see why fanfic aficionados call it crack.

I'm working up something that I can only describe as sick. Tee hee. Not sure whether to go with a story format or with a dialog... with the fleshed out story you can probe the participants' thoughts and whatnot. Hmm, probing is a tempting prospect. But I like the challenge of writing a scene, wherein the words and the described actions are the sole means in putting whatever you're aiming for across, plus as a performer-type myself, I lean towards the play format. Hmmm.

Plus, I think it works best to leave a lot of the interior workings of Sam & Max mysterious. Of course, I said that about keeping it vague about who does what to whom. Not a resolution that lasted too long. Not that this will be an exhaustive listing, just a wee peek...

Some sentimental gunfire to cap off the evening

Hmm. I don't think the exchange I posted yesterday really has the Sam n Max feel. Maybe the phrasing can be tweaked, but - hmm.

This, however, I have a smidge more confidence in. On the - get this - ObscureSlash.net website, I found what appears to be the only S'Max porn on teh entire interwebs. So, I've added a story of my own, at about 4am this morning. Still in progress, and I really want to put it into a dialog-tree form. Nonetheless, if you'd care to peruse:
